On March 21, 2022, we attended a meeting of the inter-ministerial team to implement the government program to eradicate prostitution, headed by Adv. Dina Dominitz of the Ministry of Justice. Prior to the meeting, we submitted a detailed position paper on the assistance that is not being enforced, such as police abuse and what we really need: stopping enforcement and increasing access to rights, stopping humiliation in TLA committees, deletion of police records, implementing real employment programs especially for trans mothers and women, and fighting poverty. The position paper was written in collaboration with Transiot Israel, Maavarim, HaMichlala, Tnuat Ahoti and Isha L’Isha.
Gali Cohen for “Walla!”: OnlyFans is an amazing platform for creating porn independently, without depending on anyone else. Whether we like it or not, porn is used as sex education today for many people. Instead of guilting and criticizing consumers, we could encourage quality porn that teaches a healthy attitude towards sexuality and pleasure. And OnlyFans is a great platform for that. The prosecution: “The decision does not lead to the conclusion that the clubs complied with the conditions of the law.” Leader of of the strippers’ organization: “Closing the clubs has harmed the personal security of sex workers”
Linor Abergel for Ynet: “The fact that the transgender people went underground does not mean that it is over. I hear from my friends that the more normative clients no longer show up because they are afraid of the law, and that there is an increase in new cases of HIV because the remaining clients want to do it without contraception. This leads to an increase in drug use among sex workers and more cases of violence. Although street prostitution has almost disappeared, indoor prostitution has increased. Enforcement is ultimately only harming women.”
Talia Shabbat for TimeOut: Now the stigma on them is worse than ever and this is precisely the time when Efrat and a group of strippers decided to go public and star in an evening that aims to support their community. “The goal of the show is to say in a steady and clear voice that we are here, adult and independent women who know how to make decisions about our own lives and want to continue following our profession,” says Rubinstein. “We deserve to be treated with respect, as women in a profession that is artistic-expressive that combines unique music, dance skills and above all – that is as legitimate as any other profession and provides us a good living.”
What’s the connection between Israeli punk rock and erotic dancing? And how did the Pussycat Strip club come back to life for one evening at the Tmuna Theater? One thing is for sure, you have never been to such a spectacle.
